The Canadian Partnership for Quality Radiotherapy (CPQR) provides guidance to Canadian radiotherapy programs on essential elements of patient education that reflect best practice.

In 2020, CPQR worked with the Quality and Standards Committee of the Canadian Association of Radiation Oncology (CARO) to release the Patient Education Guidance for Canadian Radiation Treatment Programs. This guidance addresses education at the patient, program and system levels.

This self-monitoring tool enables centres to assess their progress against the guidance statements. The results can be used to help set program priorities.
